Plate Link

Plate link belts are very robust, positively driven chain edged belts used in medium to heavy duty applications. These are formed from a series of castellated plates which are notched, tipped and rolled to form hinged slat. These slats are connected by cross-rods that pass through these hinges and the corresponding side chains to form a continuous flat conveying surface. Side-plates and cross flights can be added as and when required, and more specifically where products are being transported up an incline.

These belts are suitable for harsh and arduous applications found in many engineering processes such as die-casting, presswork, scrap removal, component handling, swarf and chip removal, heat treatment, cooling, drying, recycling as well as cryogenic freezing applications.

Plate link belts are constructed from a range of materials including Mild Steel, Galvanised Mild Steel and Stainless Steel. If required slats can be treated with additional surface finishes such as Bright Zinc Plating and Teflon coating.

Belts can be supplied in standard pitches ranging from 1.25” (31.75mm) to 9” (228.6mm) and in thicknesses from 1.2mm to 6mm.

A variety of side-chains are available depending upon the intended application. These range from 1.25” (31.75mm) transmission chains up to 24,000 lb conveyor chains. These side-chains are retained by a split pin and washer (which permits simple dismantling for maintenance purposes) or a welded washer selvedge.
